Sonamoti is a traditional desi wheat variety, also known as Pegambari Wheat. Its grains are small, round and golden, like pearls, which is where the name "Sona Moti" (golden pearl) comes from. Regular wheat has longer, oval grains. Trueway Farms Sonamoti Wheat is grown using natural farming, without urea, chemical fertilizers or pesticides. It naturally contains fibre, protein, magnesium, iron and folic acid.
Sonamoti atta makes rotis with a rich, traditional taste and a slightly denser, more wholesome texture than regular market atta. For softer rotis, knead the dough with lukewarm water and let it rest for 15โ20 minutes before rolling.
Yes. Trueway Farms Sonamoti Wheat is sold as whole, unpolished grain, with the natural bran intact and nothing removed.
It has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of packaging when kept in its vacuum-sealed pack. After opening, store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight
Yes. You can get the grains ground into fresh atta at your local chakki, and a slow stone chakki works best. If you'd like ready-to-use atta, Trueway Farms also offers Sonamoti Wheat Flour, which is slow stone ground from whole Sonamoti wheat.
For the roti question, I kept the answer honest on purpose. One Amazon review of your Sonamoti atta says it's comparable to Punjabi atta and not to expect very soft rotis. Promising "soft rotis" would set the wrong expectation and could lead to bad reviews.
